Educating the anti-war movement - Zeitgeist Movie

by @ 7:30 am. filed under propaganda, 9/11, war

Yesterday I wrote an article about Phyllis Bennis, a smart catty anti-war activist, who honestly wrote in an article on AlterNet that she knows “virtually nothing of what most of the factions stand for” and so I started to provide her and the anti-war movement with some written information to get know.

For me as a cat, it looks strange, that Phyllis Bennis didn’t mention the history of myths created in events like 911 even once in her whole article about the question, whether the anti-war movement shall be supporting or being neutral to the Iraqi resistance against occupation. Maybe ignoring the myths changes after watching a movie. So just take two hours time, get some pop corn, lean back and watch the Zeitgeist Movie:

Though the movie starts a few minutes with cleaning up some boring religious myths from ancient human times, I can promise, that it is not a bad idea to look into the history of myths to understand the concept of the propaganda in support for the contemporary wars, which are dealt later in the movie. Uncovering the propaganda used for the support of war as blatant lies is one of the most effective things an anti-war movement can do. Remember how the power of the anti-war movement rose as The Pentagon Papers leaked and the incident in the gulf of Tonkin used for starting the war in Vietnam was uncovered as a shameles lie?

By the way, the Zeitgeist movie does uncover some myths, but it doesn’t say anything of how to do better. So, instead, get here the opinion of a cat of what humans in the USA can do to make things better. Support the presidential candidates, who are really opposing war. I can see exactly three candidates really opposing war:the Republican Ron Paul and the Democrats Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel.

So as a cat I like to propose you as human beings, to make it happen, that one of those guys will become president instead of the well funded Republican and Democratic candidates backed by the dogs of war.

Nice review. The point is, that one can’t be sure, all or even some of the facts in the movie are true. But the movie gets it’s strength from the possibility, that they could be true.

Virtually, it is not important, if jesus is myth created to subordinate humans with the power of propaganda or a guy with that name really lived and then was used to subordinate humans with the power of propaganda.

The same is valid for 9/11. It is not really important, whether 9/11 was an inside job or not. What’s more important, is to understand, that it could be so, and how this event is used to subordinate humans with the power of propaganda.

The historical review of unmasked propaganda gives an idea, that it could be true. That’s important to understand. To put the myths completely into question is a very powerful way to get the propaganda unmasked und to show the puppeteers at work. Unmasking propaganda is an efficient way to make propaganda fail it’s target.

I hope the March 15th of the world premiere of the movie Zeitgeist will cause a lot of newspapers from a lot countries to start hounding the U.S. Government to admit they were behind the 9/11 attack.

Dan i am sure that will not happen! Zeitgeist says a lot but doesn’t really have a proof for anything! This pseudo documentary is to dumb and retarded to convince a person with some brain that it says the truth! All the people addicted to this crap that i know are just simply STUPID! They are the real extreme example of people who believe anything and never ask about proof!

I tend to agree - a lot of people buy into this stuff immediately because it is very attractive and opposes the status quo.

However, I believe that this is a much better thing than to willfully submit.

    What is worse? …
Jumping on board with Zeitgeist and new ideas, without examining all the facts carefully?
Or staying on board with old, dysfunctional ideas without ever thinking much about it?

Zeitgeist suggests the possibility of ACTUALLY DOING the ideas that we sometimes flirt with. I remember sitting in biology class, and sociology class, chatting about how the world could be so different, how society could be different. There is no real reason for money management vs. resource management. It’s just the way it is right now, and it is failing. I’m much more afraid of people who don’t challenge failing ideas than those who ACTIVELY THINK about new ideas.

Maybe they don’t think as much as you’d like, but I think it’s better than the current trend of non-thinking inert ineptness.

For all of you who think that there is no proof, the creators of the movie have posted there sources, if your really skeptical and dont wanna beleive like most people then check the sources out for yourself and verify the information. Theres not much more proof that can be given besides the sources that they got there information from. specifically for sapphire

I’ve read a lot of the sources as well as some of my own research from non-corporationally owned newspaper journalists on many of the subjects Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum covers. I definitely think the world is ready to relinquish the flawed and corrupted ideals of the past and move on to a better world and life. Why should people have to worry about putting fuel in their car and food to feed their children while money which doesn’t need to exist in the first place is taken from them and lining the pockets of the so-called elite. They’re no better than us, we are all equals and have the same right to life and happiness they do. How can there be progress while we’re distracted with just surviving? That shouldn’t have to be worried about, not with the technology we have today, there’s enough for everyone, yet the few hoarde it themselves.
