German blogs in support of the USA

by @ 2:48 am. filed under Media Manipulation, USA, Mein Parteibuch, Germany

Some people in the USA might wonder, that German blogs dealing with US politics are friends like these. Some people in the USA might even assume, that these self-claimed friends of America in favour of Bush and Cheney represent somewhat like the majority of German opinions in the German blog world. However, if so, that assumption would be completely wrong. For most Germans these people in support of Bush and Cheney look about as strange as if they would have been coming with a direct flight from Mars.

US politics are oftenly topic of German political blogsphere and controversely discussed. For example the Politblog ran by a student from Bavaria covers US politics on an almost regular basis. So, for example, the Politblog covered the war preparations against the Iran in the article “US pressurizing Pak to get its support for attack on Iran” on Global Research.

The German version of Mein Parteibuch also covers major US politic events at least about once a month. So, in the German version of Mein Parteibuch was discussed the possible war crimes of the US army in Najaf and it’s possible link to the US-army discovering weapons from Iran in Iraq. The confession of Sheikh Mohammed is also discussed widely by German bloggers and alternative electronic media, of which most are lining out that a confession given possibly under torture conditions is worthless and some deal with questions of violations of human rights by US politicians as well as by their islamistic opponents.

All in all, from Germany comes a lot of support for oppositional points of view in the USA, though many US bloggers unfortunately do not even notice it. On the other hand, the German political blog world is rarely noticed at all by bloggers from the USA. That might be caused by troubles with German language. But that US bloggers do rarely deal with Germany might be, because they find in first place the relatively small but loud group of self-claimed friends of America in favour of Bush and Cheney. An exceptional covering of the German blog world is from Wayne Madsen, who reported on 8th of March, 2007,about this “pro-Bush/Cheney and Likud network … caught in coordinated smear campaigns “. One may now think himself, whether it is possible that this small and loud network could be funded by the people they favour just to pollute uncertainity and doubt into the blog world. Their job would be well done, if their racistical writings as outlined on Telepolis prevents a German-American friendship of dissent.

But it is not only, that German bloggers can support the spreading of dissenting opinions like The Deserter’s Tale from Joshua Key. As censorship to German topics is very intensive in Germany, dissenting German bloggers are also deeply in need to get support in publishing stories of dissent outside of Germany.

The German platforms of Mein-Parteibuch (www.mein-parteibuch.de, www.mein-parteibuch.com) are among the best known platforms of dissens from a humanistic point of view in Germany. Mein-Parteibuch.org is a try to build an international window for relationships between dissenting people in the whole world with dissenting people in Germany. It shall not be, that the small loud and smeery network of pro Bush bloggers will prevent people in the USA and othe countries to get in touch with German blog world. It would be fine, if the progressive democratic German underground in favour of human rights and against corrumption will become acquainted with dissenting people from outside Germany. @cat:

    1. a hint: You should spell “plattform” just with one “t”, “platform”.

    2. do you know of any blog posts on US blogs which deal with the german blogosphere in one way or another?

    3. I might add, since I’m mentioned implicitly (I post on the Politblog mentioned in the text) that 1. I don’t run it, I’m just contributing. And 2. I think I reflect the views of the majority of german blogs when I say that I’m pro-American, if America is defined by it’s constitution. The problem with Bush, Cheney et al is that they are the ones who are anti-American from that point of view.

Hello, I am sure that it might be a good decision to give it a try, and to publish articles in the English language. The Americans won’t learn the German language (there will always be some exceptions). But we from Germany, we can try to discuss in the English language.

    @DaRockwilda
To your second question: No, sorry to tell, I still have a rather bad overview over the US blogsphere.

I hope, that the progressive blog alliance I have enrolled in the blogroll on the right will help me to explore US blogsphere. Though, that progressive blog alliance seems to be already rather old.

And dynamic blogroll in German style of Mein Parteibuch doesn’t work here due to lack of multibyte support in the php version of this server. That this server isn’t supporting any outgoing pings or trackbacks doesn’t make it more easy to set it up here. Time to move away from this machine.

Anyway I will continue trying to figure things out in english speaking world.

Uhm if it’s rather old (progressive blog alliance), are there alternatives you could use?

No, I didn’t find any better as for a start of looking into English languaged blogsphere than the old progressive blog alliance.

I had a look at most of them, took up the rss in a sidebar built with the Parteibuch aggregator and now I’m showing just the latest entries dynamically. I think that looks already better than dozens of dead links as they are in the original progressive blog alliance sidebar.

To get more interesting links in the English languaged blogsphere it might be a good idea to have a look at the sidebars of the blogs, which are displayed here in my progressive sidebar.
